Review: Maybelline Volum' Express Hypercurl Waterproof Mascara

I have barely there lashes (if there is such a term). I mean I have short and few lash strands. People won't see my lashes if not coated with mascara. That is basically the reason why I am in search of not just a good one, but an exceptionally wonderful mascara. I have tried Avon SuperShock Mascara which smudges. I love how it thickens and separates my lashes but I hate how it turned my lower lid (and sometimes the upper too) grayish black. I always ended up wiping my eyes with a wet tissue. About 6 months ago, I started using the combination of a base and Avon Supercurlascious Mascara. The base was given by E from Japan and works wonders. I always top it off with a black mascara, recently with the Supercurlasciuos, to have my lashes blackest black. I love this method but it is tedious especially when I am in a hurry. So, I went to the mall to search for a mascara, one that delivers, inexpensive, and waterproof.

I have read blogs and reviews about the Maybelline Mascaras. According to most, Maybelline makes the best drugstore mascara. Since Maybelline announced a huge sale on their products, I dod not hesistae to pick one from their mascara collection. I had a hard time choosing between the Magnum and the Hypercurl. As obvious from the title, Maybelline Volum' Express Hypercurl Mascara won. The main reason? It is a cheaper. Haha!

Maybelline Volum' Express Waterproof Hypercurl Mascara: Waterproof mascara for 3x more lash volume. Gives your lashes a 75-degree curl that stays for 18 hours.

It was not only the price that caught my attention. The saleslady actually said that it would be better for me to start with this because this mascara can not only curl lashes but also thicken/lengthens it. Since those are my problems with regards to my lashes, I immediately gave in. I got this baby and gave it a try.

Notice how my lashes turned very black and distinct? That is the main reason why I think this mascara delivers. :)

What Jes likes:

• Inexpensive. I think I got this for only *holds breath*  P199.00! It was then the huge Maybelline sale so I got this at 20% off its regular value of P249. It is still a steal even in its regular price!
• It has a liquid texture. Most of the mascara I have tried were waxy. The liquidity of this makes it easier to apply. :)
• It's brush is curved. I just like it. Seriously, I find it helpful to make my lashes more curled.
• Stays on like forever! Hooray because it is really waterproof. I even wore it once when I went jogging. You couldn't imagine my reaction when I saw it still on my lashes as if nothing happened.
• It really makes lashes curled and thick. Maybe not 75-degrees but still it curls.
• It does not smudges and it dries quick! I hate it when a mascara tends to leave black marks on my upper and lower lids.

What Jes doesn't like:

• It does not separate my lashes. I have to comb my lashes to separate it. Look at the picture above, there were strands that were stuck together.
• It is does not come off easily. I have to wipe it with a makeup remover more than twice to remove it.
• It smells weird. It is not annoying, though.

Will Jes repurchase?

Absolutely! Unless there is a mascara that is as wonder and inexpensive as this is. :)
