I know, it took me a while to create a new look (as if someone waits for it). Anyways, I posted a look I created with Dramatic Smokey Eyes a couple of weeks back and I mentioned that I will be doing more looks with smokey eyes. So here it is...my second look with smokey eyes.
The effects on the eyes didn't show up because of the lighting and my hooded lids. |
I chose to create a Brown Smokey Eyes because I find it to be suitable for everyday work look. I see myself wearing this look everyday!
Note: The lighting was ganging up on me when I created this look. You will see changes in lighting in every step. Sorry. And, I am having a hard time letting the colors show up on my 'hooded' lids. I sometimes think that when I go beyond the 'hood', the look will be overly dramatic. I'll overcome that thinking soon for sure.
Let's START:

I sometimes think that when I go beyond the 'hood', the look will be overly dramatic. I'll overcome that thinking soon for sure.
Let's START:
1. As usual, apply your foundation and conceal blemishes and undereye circles. Set everything with powder.
2. Redefine brows. Make it not to appear 'drawn' since we are going for a subtle look.
3. Prime the lids. This will prevent creasing and will make the eyeshadow last longer.
4. Apply the lightest brown eyeshadow you have all over the lid.
5. Pat on a medium brown eyeshadow on the crease area. Blend.
6. Apply a dark brown eyeshadow on the outer V. Blend carefully. Do not overblend to avoid the eyes look muddy.
7. Highlight browbones and inner tear ducts.
8. Line the outer half of the lower lash line with the medium brown eyeshadow and the inner half with the light brown eyeshadow.
9. With the dark brown eyeshadow, line the upper lash line. Stay close to the lash line.
10. Curl lashes and apply mascara.
11. Line the waterline with a white eyeliner.
12. Apply a light pink blush.
13. Put on your favorite lipcolor and you're DONE!
Here is a photo that looks a little corporate:

ReplyDeleteJust followed you blog.
Hope you follow mine too...
i like the look but this is more like a wearable semi-smokey eye to me..
ReplyDeletei have hooded eyes too. What I do is apply the medium shade on the crease and blend slightly past the crease for the color to show.
then, apply the darkest shade on the lids. tightline your waterline, put falsies on and apply mascara to bind your lashes together.
hope this helps :)
@aestheticallysavvy - Thank you for the tips! I'll definitely try those. :)
