I love wearing makeup but I also love taking it off my face. I hate it when I wake up with raccoon-looking undereyes because of the mascara my makeup remover was not able to remove. I used the Ever Bilena Advance Make-up Remover for over 2 months but promised never to purchase another bottle again. It stings my eyes and fails to remove my make-up perfectly. You don't know how happy I was when I finally emptied the bottle because I can finally get another make-up remover without feeling guilty. I emptied the Ever Bilena Makeup Remover only because I feel guilty of wasting my money for it. I should have had bought something much worthy.
I was in Watsons last week looking for a brow gel when I saw the Pure Beauty makeup removers on sale. I was torn in between the water and liquid ones, but the sticker on the liquid one was really an attention-getter. I have dry skin, hence, I purchased the Pure Beauty Perfect Cleansing Liquid with a sticker that screams 'moisturising'.
It was on sale for only Php199.00. You get 190ml for its price. I love that it is liquid than the usual oil-based remover. I was curious by its method of use -- as if you are washing your face with a normal cleanser with the benefits of a makeup remover.
I subjected this baby in a test to see if it works perfect. I swatched the 2 most waterproof and hard to remove makeup that I currently have, the K-Palette 24/7 Eyeliner and the Maybelline Volum' Express Hypercurl Mascara.
Left: K-Palette 24/7 Eyeliner Right: Maybelline mascara |
I first tried washing my hands with plain water to see if something will happen on the swatches. Notice how the eyeliner and mascara stayed intact despite the presence of water.
Then I used 3 drops of the Perfect Cleansing Liquid and rub it softly onto the swatches. To my surprise, it removed almost all the blackness of the eyeliner and the mascara.
After rinsing my hand with water, this was left on my hand. The mascara was not removed entirely but there were no traces of the eyeliner. Magic! I haven't used a makeup remover that works this fast!
You may have noticed that I love it but I will still be giving the reasons why in full details.
Pure Beauty says:
Pure Beauty Perfect Cleansing Liquid is enriched with natural herbal complex (Lavander, Bergamat, Peppermint, Freesia, Chamomile & Rosemary Extracts) to help gently cleanse and remove make-up and impurities from the face. The special semi-transparent, water friendly formula can be used on both wet and dry skin, to gently yet effectively cleanse and moisturise skin.
Usage: Pump appropriate amount onto the palms of dry or wet hands. Gently massage over dry or wet face to dissolve make-up, dirt and other impurities, then rinse thoroughly with water. Use daily facial cleanser afterwards if needed.
What I LIKE about this product:
- Inexpensive -- I got this for only Php199, on sale from its original price of Php239.00.
- It has a pump that dispense appropriate amount of product.
- It has a protective seal that avoids the pump being pushed accidentally.
- Has a storage period of 3 years
- Removes almost all my makeup
- Moisturising -- This is very important for me!
- Can be rinsed easily
- Does not leave an icky feeling after use
- No annoying scent
- I had no breakouts
- A small amount goes a long way
- Available in Watsons
What I DON'T LIKE about this product:
- Does not remove all the mascara piled up on my lashes
Will I repurchase?
YES!
Notes:
- It does not remove my mascara maybe because I don't rub it that thorough near my eyes. I am afraid it may get into my eyes and sting like hell.
- I still plan to get an oil-based remover for my mascaras. Can you recommend a good one?
I have found something that would remove my makeup in a breeze. No more stinging! But, I still have to purchase a remover that would act against my crazy waterproof mascaras. Does Etude House's makeup remover work well?
