I told in you my last post that I am investing a lot into my skin care. Lately, I am so much into cleansing, toning, moisturizing and once a week, as much as possible, putting on a masque. The most recent masque session I had was the one with Montagne Jeunesse Ceramides.
This masque caught my attention because it says that it is ultra-moisturizing for sensitive skin. For a person with dry skin, anything that promises moisture will surely get my attention. What more if there's 'ultra'? Since I liked the Montagne Jeunesse Chocolate Masque (read my review HERE) so much that I thought the Ceramide won't disappoint. If you're after the moisturizing claims of this masques, then well, you'll probably like it. But for me who's also after the experience, I was not totally into it.
This particular masque is divided into 2 stages - (Stage 1) Cleanse and Open Pores and (Stage 2) Rehydrates Open Pores. Stage 1, for me, was like the usual masque routine. Put on the product and let it work for about 10 minutes. It looked like this on me.
Stage 2 was more of the finishing touch. It's a serum that is said to seal in the moisture. Sorry, I forgot to take pictures!
It would take me a lot of words to explain why I don't have the heart for this masque. No, it didn't gave me the worst experience but I just don't feel liking it.
Stage 1 Cleanse and Open Pores : Sensitive Masque for Sensitive Skin
Relax. Let our caring Sensitive Masque deep cleanse and nourish your skin. Complete the treat & use the Serum with Re-hydrating Ceramides above.
To benefit fully, we recommend: Cleanse your face with water and pat dry. Apply evenly avoiding eyes and lips. Now take it easy & let the masque do the work. After about 10 minutes, rinse it off with water and pat dry. To aid re-hydration this masque does not dry. Use only as directed.\
Stage 2 Rehydrates Open Pores : Serum with Rehydrating Ceramides
Now use our soothing Serum with Rehydrating Ceramides, because ceramides lock together to seal the moisture into your skin.
To benefit fully, we recommend: After using the zen flower sensitive masque, apply a light, even layer of our sensitive skin ceramide serum. Leave on your skin until the serum is fully absorbed. Use only as directed.
What I LIKE about it:
- I got it for free! -- I got it from Phoebe Ann of Bite. Luxe. Snap. Wander.'s Giveaway. I got 9 masques so expect a lot of review to follow. :)
- Moisturizing -- My skin felt soft after use.
- Each pack can last for 2 to 3 uses.
- I had no allergic reaction -- No pimples or whatsoever grew on my face!
- Available in Watsons and SM Department Stores
What I DON'T LIKE about it:
- Its scent bothers me! -- It doesn't smell odd but it has this scent that drives me nuts!
- I don't like the stinging and the tightening feeling of the ceramide serum
- Not that easy to apply compared to the chocolate masque
- The masque gets into the insides of nails!
- The masques was hard to rinse off.
- Packaging is not resealable.
- The location of the stages was quite confusing. The Stage 1 is located below the Stage 2!
- Messy to apply!
Will I repurchase?
NO! I love the chocolate masque better!
Notes:
- Apply the product onto face with clean hands.
- Masques work best on clean and dry skin.
- This masque has 2 stages which works hand in hand so make sure to do both stages! -- Look at the number of stage located on the left part of the pack.
So, its quite obvious that I was NOT drawn into the goodness of ceramides. I am yet to discover what the other masques has to offer but I hope Montagne Jeunesse can do something about their packaging. I hate to see the product spilling all over my vanity just because it is not resealable!
