Review: Urban Decay Cream Shadow in Rehab

I never wear cream eyeshadow alone. It tends to crease and fade on my almost monolid eyes. The only time I use a cream eyeshadow is when I need a good base (aside from a primer) for my eyeshadow to adhere on to. I have a couple of cream eyeshadow duos in my collection but its number will never grow because I am satisfied with how my eye makeup looks like on top of a primer alone.

I don't know what got into me when I chose the Urban Decay Cream Shadow over some powder eyeshadows when I visited Every Girl's Secret booth. Maybe the idea of it being much pigmented compared to powder and its claims to be crease-free got me.

The Urban Decay Cream Shadow in Rehab is part of the loot Every Girl's Secret gave me (read my post about it HERE). When I was asked to choose the shade I want from the stock in front of me, without a blink I chose Rehab. You know how much I love neutrals and Rebel screams a perfect brown color.

I love the packaging. The plastic tube can be squeezed in case the applicator can no longer get the product at the bottom. It has a usual doe-foot applicator which works perfect in getting the right amount of product.

With just one swipe, Rebel looks like this on my hand.

The real test is to use it as an eyeshadow. Here is how it looks like on my eyelids. Can you notice that a single swipe is not enough to show up on my morena skin?

If you just need a wash of color on your lids, I can say that Rebel is perfect. I wore this out to run errands and I was totally ecstatic to see that it stayed on for quite a long time. I also tried using it as a base and as expected, it worked awesome. Sorry, I was not able to take pictures.

Urban Decay Cream Shadow:
Throw away your fears of crease-y 70s creams! Loved by makeup artists, each dynamic eyeshadow shade dries weightless, shimmering, crease-free color.
Cream Shadow channels the sex appeal of the 70's and the science of today! Whipped to perfection, each shimmering shade dries to a weightless layer of color that will not crease, fade, or hide in fine lines. Unlike most cream shadows, our gel-based formular features silicone technology, allowing time to blend, correct, and smudge. Once dry, shadow is light and as flexible as your own skin.

What I LIKE about it:
  • I got for free as a gift! -- Thank you, Leica, Han and Czarina!
  • VERY cute packaging!
  • Squeezable plastics tube is convenient in case the product is already running out
  • The applicator works good
  • Easy to apply, blend and smudge
  • Dries fast
  • Does not crease -- Please take note that I only used one swipe. The amount of product used may affect its crease-proof claim.
  • Works perfect as an eyeshadow base
  • Great pigmentation!
  • The shade, Rehab, is perfect for everyday.
  • Gives off a good wash of color
  • Available in many other shades

What I DON'T LIKE about it:
  • Expensive
  • Not available locally -- Good thing, there are online shops that have these!
  • May still crease if too much is applied on the lids

Will I repurchase?
Considering its price, NO, I won't repurchase. I might as well save up and spend my money on the Urban Decay Primer Potion and/or the Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes.

I now why bloggers and makeup artists are so under the Urban Decay spell! I am yet to try the much coveted Urban Decay Primer Potion. I'll share my thoughts about it!
