I've mentioned in a previous post how a red lipstick can instantly brighten up a dull-looking face. I, personally, believe that every woman should have her perfect red lipstick in her makeup collection. Not only because it can add an extra kick to the look but because the red lipstick never goes out of style.

I know that there are lots of red lipsticks in the market but choosing the perfect shade is not as easy as it seems. I know a handful of women that never use a red lipstick because they think red never suits them. The key here is to know what shade of red perfectly suits a particular skin tone or skin's undertone. Yes, your skin tone and your skin's undertone are they keys!

Choose a red lipstick based on your skin tone:

• Fair skin : Blue-based, coral reds 

• Olive or Medium skin: True reds or Cranberry reds

• Dark skin: Burgundy or Dark brick red

Choose a red lipstick based on your skin's undertone:

• Warm: Reds with orange or brown tones

• Cool: Reds with blue or pink tones
