When my Human Nature Lip Balm in Peppermint bid its goodbye, I was doomed. I love it so much but I don't want to travel that far (from Marikina to Commonwealth) just to get myself a new tube. Good thing, I went through my stash first (before braving the highways of Commonwealth) because in one corner of my drawer I saw a Carmex Lip Balm.
I think I got this from the press kit given during the The Vow premier (Tama ba, Ms. Marge?). Whoever gave this to me, you were a heaven sent to my dry lips.
Since my lips were in need of immediate relief, I opened and used it without hesitations. The first thing that came into my mind was, "it tastes like a massage oil with a hint of strawberry." Really, it felt like a massage oil minus the grease.
What I LIKE about it:
- Inpexpensive -- I believe each tube costs a little more than Php100 in leading drugstores and department stores. Please correct me if I am wrong.
- Glides on smoothly
- Gives long-lasting relief
- Very creamy
- Fits well in my kit.
- Moisturizing
- Smooths my lips prior to lipstick application
- Comes in a various form -- In a jar, click stick and squeeze tube.
- Available in leading drugstores and department stores.
What I DON'T LIKE about it:
- It has a tendency to melt because it's too soft!
- It tastes like a strawberry-flavored massage oil -- I am starting to love it, actually.
Will I repurchase?
Yes, unless I find something better or someone with a good heart will give me a lifetime supply of my HG lip balm from Human Nature. :)
For reference, this is how my lips look like before and after application of Carmex Lip Balm.
I am starting to live with the massage oil thing of Carmex Lip Balm because it is one of the few that give my dry lips long-lasting relief. Oh, I also found a EOS lip balm in my stash, I'll use it as soon as I run out of Carmex. Will it change my lip balm preferences? Let's see.
