Review | Essence Get BIG! Lashes Volume Boost Mascara

I love K-Palette 1Day Lash Perm Long Curl Mascara (read my review HERE) so much that I think I kept myself in trying other mascaras for quite a long time. I had to temporarily bid farewell to it upon seeing that I still have, more or less, 5 unopened mascaras in my stash. I immediately grabbed the Essence Get BIG! Lashes Volume Boost Mascara to try just because it is not sealed (it might dry up), though brand new, compared to the others.

I was a bit apprehensive in trying it simply because it is not waterproof. Also, it's brush is huge! Actually, my first time to see and use a mascara with brush as big as this. Essence claim that the brush was designed to reach even the shortest lashes but I beg to disagree.

What I LIKE:

• inexpensive -- Based on research, this costs around $2.99. (I got this as part of a package from Italy.)
• gives a decent amount of volume (after 2-3 coats)
• holds the curls of my lashes for a long time
• does not smudge
• does not flake
• dries fast after application
• easy to remove
• not widely available -- If I am not mistaken, Essence has a stall in SM Megamall. Some online shops may be selling Essence products.

What I DON'T LIKE:

• not waterproof
• has very wet formula
• smells weird
• not sealed -- I have read that the brand new of this mascara is really not sealed.
• does not give the volume that I expected
• does not lengthen -- Okay, it does not say it lengthens but who doesn't want a lengthening and volumizing mascara in one? :)

Will I repurchase?

I was not impressed by Essence Get BIG! Lashes Volume Boost Mascara. Actually, I might not ask my Tita Mama to get any Essence mascara for me though I plan to try the other products from the brand. I will be sticking with those that I know will work great on me unless it is widely raved by others. Essence Get BIG! Lashes Volume Boost Mascara is not too bad for its price, but it is not as good as I expected it to be.
