It's official, I emptied the eyebrow shade (the middle one) I use in my Wet n' Wild Ultimate Brow Kit. Not just hit-pan, I emptied it! Good thing I purchased a possible replacement weeks before I totally bid goodbye to my holy grail eyebrow powder. I was planning to get the famous In2it Eyebrow Powder but it was out of stock in the mall I went to so I had to settle to something --the Pinkies Collection Eyebrow Cake.
I was apprehensive in getting this eyebrow cake just because, well, it looks cheap. Good thing, I remember My Lucid Interval's post about it saying that it works amazing. Also, in case that it'll end up below my expectations, it won't hurt that much given that it is very inexpensive (Php169.00).
There are 3 shades to choose from and I got EBC-02 because the brown it has looks darker than the other cake.
Sorry for the swatches. |
The brown shade is, well, brown. It is lighter than I wanted but buildable. The other shade is said to be a darker brown though I find it to be on the black side more than of the brown. I usually mix both colors to somehow get the shade that I want for my brows.
What I LIKE:
- It is very inexpensive at only Php169.00 for 3 grams of product.
- There packaging fits well in my makeup kit.
- The powder is easy to work with and are highly pigmented.
- The powder can be used wet or dry.
- It is not powdery.
- Stays on for long hours though I find the tips to be blurring at the end of the day.
- It is easy to remove even with just plain facial cleanser.
- There are 3 shades available.
- Available in Pinkies Collection stalls in leading department stores.
What I DON'T LIKE:
- The packaging looks cheap. I am afraid that it'll soon be broken into pieces.
- It has no mirror, which is not much of a problem.
- It is not waterproof.
- The darker shade in the cake looks more of a black than a dark brown.
Will I repurchase?
Yes, I'll get the shade EBC-03.
I like the Pinkies Collection Eyebrow Cake because it works well given its incredibly inexpensive price but I am still not totally digging it. I don't know if it's because I got the wrong shade and I find it to be light for my preference or other things. But to intensify the color and make the staying power better, I use it on top of an eyebrow pencil. The trick works pretty good.
I still am in the lookout for other eyebrow products to try, may it a pencil, a powder or a setting gel. Topping my list is the MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme. Yes, I don't mind spending thousands just for my brows. :)
