I have used a couple of lip balms in the past but though I liked the one from Maybelline, I didn't find myself repurchasing. But I think the story will be different with the Etude House Sweet Recipe Candy Stick. For over a month now, I am using and totally loving it!
Out of the 3 shades available, I got the Seedless Strawberry Candy. It is strawberry and it is pink so expect a pink tint on your lips.
Just like the other products in the Sweet Recipe collection, the Candy Stick comes in a dessert inspired packaging. A candy cane to be exact with the curved part being the cap of the balm. The entire tube is about 4 inches tall and the retractable end takes an inch of that. The product inside is about 1.5 inch, just about the same size of other lip balms.
The pink tint doesn't show on my not-so-fair skin so I didn't bother to take photos of the swatch I did. Good think my lips are not that dark and this balm gives my lips a bright pink tint.
What I LIKE:
- It is housed in a cute candy cane tube.
- It gives my lips a bright pink tint. It is so bright that I like to wear it alone.
- The cap locks securely. No need to worry about the product getting damaged inside your kit.
- It glides on smoothly on my lips.
- It smells and tastes like strawberry candies! Are you familiar with Lips candies? It tastes just like that!
- It keeps my lips smooth and supple for a very long time!
- It stays on for more than 5 hours without retouch and even after drinking and eating.
- It is relatively affordable at Php 248.00 in all Etude House stores nationwide.
What I DON'T LIKE:
- The tube I got doesn't retract the product all the way down. I have to push the balm down to make sure it won't get damaged by the cap.
Hello, ombre! |
Rowena of Animetric's World said in this post that the Etude House Sweet Recipe Candy Stick works at par with Clinique's Chubby Stick. I haven't tried the ones from Clinique but having that said by someone I trust when it comes to product reviews, it means that one from Etude House is really that impressive.
I love using the shade candy stick underneath a nude lipcolor. It gives a boring nude lipcolor a slight touch of pink transforming it to a pinkish kind of nude. I love the Candy Stick so much that I am eyeing on the shade O! Orange Candy hoping that a bright orange tint will look good on me. The price may be a bit steep for a tinted lip balm but given the fact that it is awesome, I won't mind repurchasing.

Do you use a tinted lip balm? From what brand? :)
