Neutrogena Hydro Boost Clear Lotion

This will be a quick post.

I know I have said that I don't know what a toner does. In one of the events I attended, I learned that toners helped in prepping the skin to properly absorb the next products to be used (moisturizer and sunblock). Still I am not convinced that my skin needs it that much so I stuck with my usual face cleanser. But two weeks ago, my usual cleanser bid its farewell without me even noticing. I was not equipped with a back up and I, then, badly needed one, so I had to rummage through my stash if I have something to temporarily replace it. I was so ecstatic to see the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Clear Lotion humbly lying in one corner of my cabinet as if waiting to be tried and tested. Without a doubt, I grabbed, opened and used it. 

While I was applying it onto my face, I cared to read the details of it. 

With innovative "Progressive Release System", Neutrogena Hydro Boost Clear Lotion gives your skin a shower of fresh hydration and refines the skin immediately.

It doesn't promise anything that caught my interests to use it for a long time so I thought of using it just that night and buy my usual cleanser the next day. But when I flipped the box and read that it will expire at the end of the month (May 29, 2013 to be exact), I thought of finishing it until its last drop just because it will be 'sayang'. I was then using it without any expectations in mind but my thoughts about it changed after 2 weeks of use.

I never imagined I will end up liking it. This transparent liquid does not promise anything but I like how it does things I didn't expect. I like how my skin feels refreshed and well-moisturized after use which my usual cleanser fail to do (My usual cleanser cleanses my face but leaves my skin dry and tight.) It may not be enough to thoroughly cleanse the face after a heavy makeup but it does clean the face, if you get what I am saying. Just make sure you have a good makeup remover to start with and you have an even better facial wash to get rid of all the makeup. I love how it smells too. Fragrant but not overpowering. I am still thinking if I will be repurchasing it since I find it to be a bit pricey for a toner. Let us just wait and see until I finish it.
