Giga Pet Balm

Beware: This is not beauty related. But if you have a pet, you might want to continue reading. :)

I don't know if you know how much I love dogs. Just 3 months ago, I got myself a new puppy, a Rottweiler-Labrador mixed to be exact. Xena is now going 5 months and has been terribly loved and spoiled in the household. All her needs are provided, even those that are not so needed.

Big dogs often get calluses or pressure sores. These are areas of the skin that often get trauma due to pressure like laying down or sitting. Because Xena is considered to be a member of large, heavy, giant-breed dogs (at 4.5 months, she is already weighing 8 kilos), she got herself calluses when she was just turning 3 months old. I know simple calluses are not that serious and does not need thorough treatment, but as the maarte person that I am, I hate how it looks.

When I noticed that Xena was already having dry spots on her knees and but, I started applying petroleum jelly on those areas. Though the petroleum jelly helps in moisturizing the dry areas, it didn't seem to cure it so I had to look for a better alternative. Good thing, I remember Martha's post regarding Giga Pet Balm and how it helped in curing her dog's hot spots (read it here) so when I spotted a Giga kiosk in SM Megamall, I got a tub without hesitations.

Giga Pet Organics Pet Balm looks like an ordinary balm (think of sebo de macho) but with a better scent. It smells minty which I super like since it stays on very well on my dog's coat. But the most important thing is, it does help in curing the calluses of Xena! In just days after I continuously applied the pet balm on the affected areas, I noticed that the dry areas were getting moisturized and hair started to grow back.

I don't know how the Giga Pet Balm does it, but I should thank it for making my baby look pretty again! I love it so much that I got a new tub for back-up. It does not just give the dogs relief from dryness and itchiness, it also helps in keeping ticks and mites away from them.

I don't think I'll ever stop applying Giga Pet Balm on Xena's coat. If you have a dog or cat that is experiencing a bad skin condition, you might want to try applying this balm first before bringing him or her to the vet. It will save you a lot of money, I tell you. A 3.52 oz of product just costs Php 165.00 and is good for about 3 weeks of everyday use.

I can't wait to show you how my baby girl looks like! Do you also have a pet? :)
