Today is a no work day for me (I am a teacher, by the way!)! But that doesn't mean I will tuck myself in my bed and lounge the whole day, though my heart is totally disagreeing with me. I have grades to record, lessons to prepare and worksheets to do. But it would be best to perk up the day with some makeup talk, right?
When was the last time I posted a review of a foundation? Honestly, I cannot remember it myself! Well, I don't wear foundation often, hence, I don't get to try as much. And also, I somehow hate the feeling some foundations give -- heavy and mask-like. Good thing, I met a foundation that feels and look like skin -- the L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable Makeup.
As it name implies, it promises to be the truest of the true match of your skin. I somehow agree since it is available in 15 shades, in 3 different undertones -- warm, neutral and cool. One would definitely her match with that wide selection.
I wasn't able to attend the A Match Made For Me event, a foundation-matching event by L'Oreal, that I only had to trust my instincts when looking for the shade that will match my skin best. I had to look at the photo of the shades numerous times, personally swatch the foundations in stores and ask around to get my the thoughts of my makeup-lover friends. After that perpetual quest, I landed on the shade W3 Nude Beige, the mid-shade in the warm category.
There is a match made for every Filipina beauty -- this is what L'Oreal Paris, the makeup designer from Paris, declared as it unveiled the newest shades of True Match super blendable foundation. L'Oreal Paris unveiled 15 stunning shades of True Match, showcasing how one can go beyond choosing from fair, medium and dark skin tones but also capturing the specific undertones of Filipinas - from warm, neutral or cool.
Looking pretty good, right? Up close and personal, the shade W3 Nude Beige is still a tad lighter than my skin but nothing to be worried about. After it sets, it blends into my skin flawlessly and perfectly. My skin has that talent to match with a foundation shade. Donna can attest to that!
I LIKE that it ...
- has light to medium coverage. It can also be layered to achieve a full coverage.
- blends on my skin very well.
- applies smoothly and flawlessly.
- evens out my skin in just one application.
- has a semi-matte finish. You can now say pass to a setting powder.
- stays all day.
- feels light on the skin.
- has low amount of flashback though it has SPF 17.
- has a great shade selection.
- it is affordable for only Php899.00 in all L'Oreal outlets.
I DON'T LIKE that it ...
- doesn't have a pump.
- it has a tendency to set on fine lines, especially if you don't moisturize well prior to application.
Now, I understand why the L'Oreal True Match foundation is well-loved by beauty enthusiast here in abroad. It's true to skin finish is a topnotch! I will sure get more shades to include in my traincase.
Stay tuned for my #ButterflyLook where I used the L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable Makeup in Nude Beige W3. You'll see how wonderful it looks on photos! :) Oh, watch out for the outfits I paired with the look.
Ciao for now!
