Makeup Start-up

Whenever I am asked about what makeup to buy when one is still starting in the field, I only have a few items in mind -- a good face powder, a smudge-proof eyeliner, a waterproof mascara, a lasting blush, a moisturizing lip tint and a handy brush set. It may be a lot for some but trust me, these products will sure give you the best face that you'll end up getting more makeup sooner than you planned and wanted it to happen.

So if you are starting to build up your stash or just plainly starting with makeup (or just curious on what products I will be sharing *wink*), allow me to share with you my recommended start-up makeup products.

Face Powder / Powder Foundation 

Not just for starters but a powder that gives coverage, stays put all day and controls oil should be a staple in a woman's kit. Lately, I am interchangeably using the L'Oreal Mat Magique and the Maybelline White Superfresh for these both fit the requirements. Both give decent coverage and keep the oil at bay for more than 5 hours. They are affordable too!

Eyeliner
Eyeliners work wonders, believe me. A nice line would definitely change a look, especially if paired with a great working mascara. Hands down, the best in the market (for me, at least) is the K-Palette Real Lasting Eyeliner (Php695.00). No need to worry about panda eyes and fading for this eyeliner will stay put all day. As in all day!

Mascara

A few swipes make a huge difference. Mascara opens the eyes making it look more bright and awake. Lately, I am loving the Maybelline Hypercurl Volum' Express for it curls and gives volume to the lashes that lasts the whole day. And to top it all, it is just Php199.00!

Blush

A pop of color will never be too much. A swipe of blush will bring out the youth and freshness in one's look, right? All thanks to Liz for introducing me to Ellana Cheek Duo. This 2-in-1 blush hasn't left my kit since I first has my hands on it. 

Tinted Lip Balms

Should I say more? Tinted lip balms not just give color to the lips, it also moisturizes the puckers keeping it away from chapping and peeling. One of my all-time favorite tinted lip balms/shimmer would be the Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer. These tiny babies give a nice color to the lips while hydrating it.

Makeup Brush

Having great tools is also important when one wants to achieve great outputs. I know, our hands are our best tools when putting on makeup but a few brushes that do the job won't hurt, right? No doubt, I am in love with Charm Brushes and I will not get tired of recommending this brand to people looking for makeup brushes that will sure perform divine. One will never regret getting Charm brushes!
