Tighten, Firm, and Contour the Face with BEAR by Foreo Sweden | Foreo BEAR Review

Honestly, I haven't had a chance to try new products, experiment on makeup looks, and just sit to blog. The blogging mojo still has not kicked in that strong. My workload, also, has been extremely heavy lately. I am not complaining though, as I feel so blessed to have all of these on my plate. Nevertheless, I will still try to my best to keep this blog updated. After all, I am Jes and I still breathe beauty.

Let us talk about BEAR, shall we?

In case you still haven't noticed, I have relatively big face. My jaw lines are defined making my face even bigger (and wider?). When I was younger, I had a love-hate relationship with it. I hated it because it wouldn't get smaller regardless of how much I lose weight. But, I loved it because it gives me that modelesque look even without trying. Ehem! Haha!

As I learn more on how to work with my face shape and my well-defined jaw lines, I turned into loving it more. Actually, my love for it has grown so much that I try my best to keep the definition on point and work with my angles in photos. These go with my main goal of keeping my skin in tiptop condition.

Recently, I have been so addicted to skincare that I have accumulated and tried a handful of skincare products and devices, The Foreo UFO still is my favorite find, by the way, and it would probably stay on top of my hit list for 2020 for sure. I gave BEAR by Foreo Sweden a good 3 months of use to see if it land on the same level of love I have for UFO. Yes, 3 months! Why? I'll let you know in a bit.

BEAR by Foreo Sweden, or simply BEAR (Php 17,600 at Sephora Philippines), is a device that helps tighten and firm the skin. It features an Anti-Shock System™, a unique integrated system that eliminates the chances of microcurrent shocking the skin, and  T-Sonic™ pulsations that massage the face and help in brightening the complexion.

The features may be too overwhelming but to keep things short and simple - BEAR is a smart skincare device that delivers microcurrent and pulsations that sculpts, contours, and helps tighten, firm, and improve skin condition.

As expected, I got the fuchsia one to match my Luna and my UFO. Its ergonomic shape, especially the placement of the 2 metal spheres, perfectly fits the contours of the face. It glides smoothly across the skin without unnecessary tugging and pulling. Though for me, I like to tug my skin a bit upwards. Just like with Luna and UFO, I love how the BEAR is lightweight, compact and easy to use.

Unlike the UFO, the BEAR works perfectly even without the app. However, the app offers more microcurrent intensities and a guided use. Once turned on, it automatically pairs with the mobile and can be instantly used.

I use it every night, every after work (I work US time). Since I am used to how it works on my skin, I am good with the default intensity of the microcurrent. I use it without the app. After washing my face, I apply a good amount of the serum and just start my facial workout with the BEAR.

I start with my cheekbones, going from the nose area, and gently pulling it towards the ears. I go for about 5 runs per side with each run lasting for about 2-3 seconds. After, I do the forehead area and slowly work it from eyebrows up. Then I go to my jaw area, the part I spend the most time on. From chin going out, I run the spheres through my jaw bones giving the area a good sculpt. I do this routine for 3 rounds every night. Too much? Nah. 

Does it work?

I believe it does! Though it is tricky to prove it since I have naturally-defined jaw lines, I noticed the slight change on my cheeks. The skin on my cheeks now feels tighter, firmer, and less saggy compared to how it was 3 months back. Check out the photos above! It may still take a while (longer than 3 months) to notice a huge difference but every use brings me closed to my skin goals. So yes, I will sure use it continuously.

Here's the thing, though. If you'll ask me if this is a worthy investment, I'll say yes but with reservations. I feel that one can actually live without this. I, personally, can skip this out my routine and will not mind it. For those who would want to invest on a good skincare device, I would always recommend Luna and/or UFO over the BEAR. But if you already have Luna and the UFO, and you have extra budget to spend, go ahead and get the BEAR too. It will complete that luxe facial experience done at the comfort of your own home. The gentle pulsations and microcurrents the BEAR gives are great additions to your skincare routine.
