Trying out brow lamination with Lucky Beauty Brow Grip

I honestly can’t remember the last time I switched up my brow routine. For years, I’ve stuck with the same basic routine that works for me, but lately, I’ve been itching to add a little something extra to the mix. Brow lamination has been tickling my interest, especially after seeing how amazing it looks on others. It seems like the perfect way to give my brows a fuller, more polished look without the daily effort. So, I decided to give it a go and see if it works for me.

Here’s my take on the process using the first release and formulation of Lucky Beauty Brow Grip.

Honestly, I was and still is quite hesitant to try brow lamination. I mean, would it look good on me? Would I be able to pull it off? But as an almost 40 year old beauty lover who has nothing else to lose, I might as well give it a go!

There are so many brow lamination products in the market but for some reason, I decided to use the Lucky Beauty Brow Grip in Clear for my first try. I like the packaging - simple and straightforward. The applicator, on the other hand, is a different story. It is not the usual spooly type as it comes with a plastic brush, with a smooth, flat other side. It is a bit flimsy for my liking but still works.

The formulation is like a liquid glue, just a tad lighter. It is white as first but eventually dries clear. I am not really sure what to expect from it, really. I hoped it would be tacky enough to hold my brows in place but for some reason, it didn't. Let the photos below speak more about it.

I followed the instructions down to the t - cleaned my brows and made sure there's no skincare or makeup, made sure all strands were well coated with product, waited for some time before combing the brows to preferred shape. The first photo below was taken right after application. Looks promising, right? After I was satisfied with the shape, I left it alone to completely dry and went ahead to finish the rest of my make up. Unfortunately, just some minutes after, I noticed that the hold started to loosen. The third photo was taken just about 5 minutes after.

The persistent one in me gave it another go and this time, I tried to first do my brows and use the Brow Grip after. For reference, I used my ever-trusted brow pen to define the shape and lightly fill in my brows.

The second photo below was right after I defined my brows and applied Lucky Beauty Brow Grip - looks promising, right? But boy, just like my first try, I lost all the hold after about 5 minutes. :(

I wasn't able to achieve the laminated brows that I wanted but props still because it was able to groom my brows neatly. It stayed well for about 4-6 hours which was impressive.

Would I still use it? For sure, yes, but just to groom and hold my brows in place. But for brow lamination, maybe? I am not really sure. I am not disregarding the fact that there might be some user errors here and that I still need to really learn how to do it. And it is also possible that the formula of the Lucky Beauty Brow Grip just doesn't sit well on my stubborn brows. So yeah, I'll keep my doors open.

I haven't given up on brow lamination and I am more than willing to give other products a try. What do you suggest? ♥
